St. Nicholas was founded in 1980 as an international school for pupils from 18 months to 18 years of age. The Alphaville campus opened its doors in 2016 and is a warm and welcoming international environment for both Brazilian and other nationalities.
As an IB World School, we are authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer the Primary Years Programme and we are about to launch the process that will lead to the Middle Years Programme accreditation and authorization. The school is also accredited by the Brazil Education Ministry, and Portuguese language and literature and Brazilian culture and history will occupy a prominent place in the curriculum alongside international elements and perspectives so as to honour the diverse nature of our school.
Parents and the school work closely together in order to ensure that our young people are able to develop into confident, knowledgeable, responsible, caring and capable citizens.
Throughout each key stage in the students’ learning, the school offers a vibrant and innovative education which inspires and challenges our students to develop a love of learning. Emphasis is placed on how students learn as well as what they learn. As a result, our students have the knowledge, skills and values to cope with a rapidly changing world.
