    Types of Education Offered

    Educational Programs at St. Nicholas Alphaville -SP

    Early Years

    18 months to 6 years old

    Tiny Tots Program (18 months to 3 years old ): A safe and stimulating space that favors creating trusting bonds between children and educators, besides the exploration of environments such as natural gardens, fostering curiosity and love for learning from an early age.

    • Early Years (3 to 6 years old ): At this stage, children learn through play, developing social and cognitive skills in carefully planned environments that foster investigation and creative communication. Through the Primary Years Programme (PYP) from the IB, the children are conducted through an educational approach that values curiosity and exploration, preparing them for continuous and meaningful learning.

    Primary Years

    1st to 5th year - Age: 6 to 11 years old

    In Primary Years, students continue their journey in the Primary years old Programme (PYP) through an investigative curriculum that prepares them for a globalized society, approaching globally relevant themes, such as: 

    • Who we are

    • Where we are in space and time

    • How we express ourselves

    • How the world works

    • How we organize ourselves

    • Sharing the planet

    This approach fosters critical thinking and active learning, culminating with global research presented in the 5th-grade Exhibition. 

     

    Middle Years

    from 6th to 10th year - 11 to 16 years old

    For the Middle School, St. Nicholas offers an academic program, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) from the IB, centered on students and their education. The students are encouraged to make connections between the subjects and the world outside the classroom through a rich and balanced curriculum based on investigation. With challenging experiences in eight groups of subjects – Mathematics, English, Portuguese, Science, Humanities, Arts, Physical education, and Design – students expand their horizons and acquire essential skills for life. The focus is on:

    • IB Diploma Program (16 to 18 years old ):

    The IB’s Diploma Programme (DP) was authorized in May 2024 and is offered to students from 16 to 18 years old. Through a rigorous curriculum, students in 11th and 12th grade receive a complete and personalized education. 25 subjects are offered for students to personalize their educational program according to their interests, abilities, and academic objectives. All this with the support of a team of tutors and the University Counseling department. 

    St. Nicholas is proud to offer an international curriculum recognized by renowned universities in Brazil and worldwide. This curriculum allows students to develop an outlook toward the future, cultivate the ability to question, feed the desire for knowledge, stand out in their careers, strengthen their identity, develop their communication skills, and empathize with people from different backgrounds.

     

    IB Diploma Program

    16 to 18 years old

    The IB’s Diploma Programme (DP) was authorized in May 2024 and is offered to students from 16 to 18 years old.     Educational Programs at St. Nicholas Pinheiros - SP

    Early Years

    18 months to 6 years old

    At St. Nicholas, Early Years combines a dynamic curriculum with inquiry and play, promoting children’s integral development.

    • Tiny Tots Program (18 months to 3 years old): A welcoming environment that encourages exploration and development of social and language skills.

    • Early Years Program (3 to 6 years old): IB’s Primary Years Programme (PYP) is offered to children from 3 to 6 years old, allowing them to learn through play in spaces designed to stimulate curiosity and independence. In this imaginative environment, students develop communication skills and understanding of the world around them, fostering meaningful and integrated learning. 

     

    Primary Years

    1st to 5th year - Age: 6 to 11 years old

    Primary Years is based on IB’s Primary Years Programme (PYP), which promotes investigation and exploration of global themes in depth. During this period, students develop essential skills through topics like: 

    • Who we are.

    • Where we are in place and time.

    • How we express ourselves. 

    • How the world works.

    • How we organize ourselves.

    • Sharing the planet. 

    Research and investigation are crucial, allowing students to deeply understand the content covered. The journey culminates with the presentation of their research in fifth grade. 

     

    Middle Years

    from 6th to 10th year - 11 to 16 years old

    Students in the Middle Years consolidate their learning with an international curriculum, combining the IB philosophy and IGCSE from the University of Cambridge. The program is enriched by the “4 Peaks” (Passion, Pairs, Project, and Play), allowing the exploration of global themes such as the environment and health. Students participate in transdisciplinary investigations and are prepared for academic and practical challenges, culminating in the worldwide recognized IGCSE qualification.

    IB Diploma Program

    16 to 18 years old

    Since 2000, the IB Diploma Program at St. Nicholas has stood out for being inclusive and challenging, as a result of which 83% pass the bilingual diploma, which is approximately 50% higher than the global average. The curriculum covers 40 subjects in addition to the mandatory ones, which include: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS). The program prepares them for renowned universities, developing practical and critical skills valued in the job market and academic life.
