St Nicholas is a vibrant, stimulating and happy multicultural environment. The Alphaville campus has a large green area and ample, well-resourced classrooms. The school currently educates over students through Grade 8 and is adding an additional year group each academic year. International-mindedness is valued, promoted and celebrated. The school is authorised to offer the PYP and the MYP, and through these programmes it seeks to provide a balanced, challenging, and transformative education for its diverse body of students, most of whom are studying English as an additional language. St Nicholas is a successful, forward-thinking and well-run school where teachers value sharing ideas, resources and experiences.

The Science Department is a small but growing department where teachers value sharing ideas, resources and experiences. Science is taught through an integrated program in Grades 6-8 and as the discrete subjects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics in Grades 9 and 10. Curriculum development is ongoing to reflect the school’s inquiry based philosophy and the science programme is based around innovative school designed units of inquiry which reflect understanding and transfer of knowledge and skills in realistic and meaningful situations. The school is equipped to offer outstanding facilities for all areas of science, as the school currently offers four purpose-built labs each containing state of the art equipment and technology, with more input and potential for growth welcomed from future members of the science department.
