The IB Diploma Programme

Offered for learners aged 16 to 18 years old

In the Diploma Programme, learners encounter a range of subjects, and through the Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) component of the DP core they continue their own explorations of physical activity and the creative process, and service to the local community.

There are more than 120,000 Diploma learners over the world who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge – learners who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.

Inclusive and challenging

All learners in year 11 start the Full Diploma.
The pass rate is typically over 90%, some achieve over 40 points and the school average is between 32 to 33 points. All these are above the world average and reflect our inclusive school.

The CORE

Through the DP Core, learners reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service. The DP Core comprises Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) and the Extended Essay.

Students reflect on the nature of knowledge and on how we know what we claim to know.

The Extended Essay

An independent, self-directed piece of research, finishing with a 4,000-word paper.

Creativity, Action & Service

Students complete a project related to those three concepts.
